Anna Christina Scheiter

A lecturer in Islamic Studies at the University of Freiburg, Germany. She studied Middle Eastern Studies and Arabic Literature and Culture at University of Marburg, where she also earned her PhD in Arabic Studies with a dissertation on literary representations of the 1982 Hama massacre in Syrian literature. Her research focuses on modern Arabic literature and memory cultures, particularly in the context of political violence and authoritarian regimes, as well as the role of art and culture in transitional justice processes.
